Our last week at school.

OUR LAST WEEK AT SCHOOL

This week is an exciting but sad week. It is our last full week at school. We are so excited about
Christmas. We have been doing a lot of Christmas crafts this week. Take a look at what we have done.

We are making stars to hang on our Christmas Tree.

This is us making our own wrapping paper.

We are colouring in our stand up santas.

We also made tree decorations and gifts out of salt dough. We are still waiting for them to dry.

Christmas party:

This week we had our Christmas party. It was pretty awesome. Santa came and visited us. We enjoyed seeing him. We also had a BIG shared lunch. Thank you to all the families that provided for our shared lunch.

Only two more days left of school. We are packing up and looking forward to the holidays.

Hope you have a good weekend and we will send one final blog next week.

Week 8 Room 23

Week 8 in Room 23

This week has been a busy week for us. We did our finial science experiment. We wanted to know what would happen if we poured water onto the ground on a hot day.

We predicted (guessed) what would happen:
Some of us thought that the water would stay on the ground.
Some of us thought the water would disappear.
Some thought it would get sucked into the ground.

We poured the water and watched what happened. It was pretty exciting. We used chalk to draw around our puddle and waited. Before we knew it the water started disappearing right in front of our eyes.

Miss S poured a big puddle on the concrete, we saw steam coming from it. This was the first time some of us had seen this happen.

We brainstormed what we thought happened, what steam is and where it could have come from.

We then watched a video that explained the process of evaporation.

HEAD BOY AND HEAD GIRL ELECTIONS:

This week we got to vote for Head boy and Girl. We went to assembly and listened to all the students running for head boy and head girl. On Friday we were able to vote. It was a great experience.... now we know how you adults feel when you go and vote.

CHRISTMAS TIME:

Its nearly Christmas and we are getting very excited about it. Miss S gave us a challenge. She asked us to make a Christmas tree out of 3 triangles, 1 rectangle, 1 square, 6 circles and 1 star. Here is some photos of us making our Christmas trees. Come in and see how well we did.

Next week is our last week full week at school. We have our Junior Christmas party.... did you know someone exciting is coming to visit us? Wonder who it could be?

Week Six in Room 23.

What an awesome week we have had this week!

Our teacher Miss S is no longer Miss S but Mrs Viliamu. She got married last week. It is great to have her back, we missed her a lot. Thank you Miss Iessha for coming in and being an amazing teacher. We loved having you in Room 23 and hope you come back again.

Here are some photos of Mrs Viliamus (Miss S) wedding.

Our Zippy Zoo Trip:

On Thursday we were lucky to go and visit all the cool animals at the Zoo. The rain and cold did not stop us from having fun. Check out our awesome photos of our trip.

Here we are on our way to the Zoo on the bus.

We were so lucky to see a Lion. Rrrraaaaaaa.

We missed feeding the Giraffe, but he came over anyway to say hello. He is SO BIG!

There were also a couple of Zebras and Ostrich's hanging out with the Giraffes.

Wow!!! This Tiger is massive. He came so close to us too.

ROAR LIKE A TIGER!! RRRAAAAAA

We were lucky to have our own little lesson on the different types of animals the zoo has. We got to be little scientists and figure out how tigers hunt.

Can you see the Red Pandas? We had to use our eyes and find all of them hiding in the trees. There are four of them.

We had a lot of fun at the Zoo. We were very tired when we got back to SPS.

Hope you have enjoyed our blog this week. Stay tuned next week to see some more exciting stuff we are getting up too.

The last week of School!

What an amazing week have had. It is our last week of school and we are excited to go on holidays.

Today we helped Miss S decide what she should do for her holidays. We had to help her choose from sleeping all holidays, going to Rainbows end, going to Kelly Tarltons, doing Rocket Ropes and going to the pools. As you can see from our graph, Rainbows end won. Thank you Rm 23 for helping me decide what to do.

Our School Trip:

On Thursday we were really lucky and got to go on a school trip. We went to watch Fresh Movement at TAPAC in Western Springs. Fresh Movement just got back from Las Angeles after competing in the world champs for Hip Hop Dance.

We were super excited about catching a bus to TAPAC.

Once we got there we were taken into a big hall and seated. It was dark and exciting. We were all wondering what the show was about. Then the music started and this awesome dance crew came on stage. Here are some photos of Fresh Movement dancing.
