Last week of T1.

This week has been a great week. We visited the Museum on Tuesday. It was a great day filled with learning, play and adventure. Here are some photos of what we did.

Week 2 of Snag golf and lots more fun.

SNAG GOLF!

Kia Orana every one. We have had another fantastic week. Cant believe it is our last full week of term. Time has gone so quickly.

This week for Math we have been looking at making Ty numbers. Numbers like 20 30 40 50. Here are some photos to show you how we have been learning.

Theo: I am making 34

Orlando: I have made 30.

Ankush: I am using blocks to make 30.

Sincear: I have made 20.

Jester: I have made 30. 

Makalita: I made 3 rows of ten, which is 30. 

Koula: I have made 34.

Squares: We are confident with our ty numbers. 

Here is an update on snag golf. 

Joziah: I am hitting the ball so it bounces.

Caleb: I got a snag. 

Room 23: We are hitting the balls over the cones.

AUTUMN  ART:

This week we looked at the Autumn leaves. This time we picked two leaves, came back to class and drew them with crayon. Then we died them. They look amazing.

What a wonderful week in Room 23.

Guten Tag everyone. This week our greeting is in German. Theo introduced us to this greeting this week. Yet another great greeting to add to our list. 

This week has been a busy week for us in Room 23. We started the week off by sharing what we did in our weekend and what our favorite thing was. We enjoy talking with our buddies about our weekend. 

AUTUMN ART:

Its the first week of Autumn this week. We made some Autumn leaves. Here we are coloring them in with crayon. The we sprinkled some Autumn leaves on them. They look amazing. Come in and have a look. 

Armani: We coloured our leaves in. My one is green. 

Koula: I am gluing leaves on my leaf. 

Tui: It was fun putting leaves onto my leaf.

SNAG GOLF:

Last week we started snag golf. Here are some pictures of what we did. 

Jorja: We put the targets in front of the hoop and rolled the ball to the target,

Aeshvin: If we got the target we shouted SNAG! 

Lester: I had fun rolling the ball. I got 3 Snags. 

Koula: We are sitting and watching our next thing to do.

We really enjoyed this week. Cant believe there is only one and a bit weeks left.

Another Great week in Room 23.

Xin Chao everyone. This week we have learnt a new greeting. Henry, who is from Vietnam, taught us the Vietnamese greeting Xin Chao. Next week we will be learning an new greeting. We now know how to greet people in Maori, Samoan, Hindi, Korean and now Vietnamese.

BUDDY READING:

Every Friday before lunch we meet with the Yr6's in Room 16 for buddy reading. We like buddy reading with the big ones. Here are some photos of us buddy reading with Rm 16.

What have we been up this week?

Our week 5 blog:

We have had a busy week of learning this week. Here is what we have been doing:

Maths:

This week we have been learning to identify teen numbers. We used our fingers to help us with tens and one. We worked very hard and made our own teen number displays. 

Caleb: We were given a number and we had to colour in squares to match the number. 

Aeshvin: We learnt how many ones we have to add to 10 to make a teen number. 

Sincear: I got the number 11. That has 1 lot of ten and 1 one. 10+1=11

Orlando: I made 15 with 10 squares in the tens and 5 squares in the ones. 10+5=15

Reading:
We have been practicing our reading as much as we can. We have all done really well and are making good progress.

Inquiry:

We have been talking about conflict. We shared with each other the times we have been in a conflict. We talked about the different ways we can get through a conflict and some steps we could use at school. 

1. Say "Stop it. I don;t like it"

2. Walk away.

3. Ignore them. 

4. Find a teacher or an adult. 

We made a mobile to display our steps in class. 

Xavier: Sometimes me and my brother won't share. 

Jesse: I don't like it when my sister won't let me play in her. 

Diego: We need to be nice and helpful in our classroom. 

Caleb: I am going to use my words.
