Week 8 Room 23

Week 8 in Room 23

This week has been a busy week for us. We did our finial science experiment. We wanted to know what would happen if we poured water onto the ground on a hot day.

We predicted (guessed) what would happen:
Some of us thought that the water would stay on the ground.
Some of us thought the water would disappear.
Some thought it would get sucked into the ground.

We poured the water and watched what happened. It was pretty exciting. We used chalk to draw around our puddle and waited. Before we knew it the water started disappearing right in front of our eyes.

Miss S poured a big puddle on the concrete, we saw steam coming from it. This was the first time some of us had seen this happen.

We brainstormed what we thought happened, what steam is and where it could have come from.

We then watched a video that explained the process of evaporation.

HEAD BOY AND HEAD GIRL ELECTIONS:

This week we got to vote for Head boy and Girl. We went to assembly and listened to all the students running for head boy and head girl. On Friday we were able to vote. It was a great experience.... now we know how you adults feel when you go and vote.

CHRISTMAS TIME:

Its nearly Christmas and we are getting very excited about it. Miss S gave us a challenge. She asked us to make a Christmas tree out of 3 triangles, 1 rectangle, 1 square, 6 circles and 1 star. Here is some photos of us making our Christmas trees. Come in and see how well we did.

Next week is our last week full week at school. We have our Junior Christmas party.... did you know someone exciting is coming to visit us? Wonder who it could be?
