Wonderful Week 4

Wonderful Week 4:

Hi everyone. We have had a busy week this week. Lots of learning, lots of fun and lots of happy students. 

Here is what we have been doing. 

Orlando: We are building as a team. 

Koula: We made sure we shared with others. 

Joziah: We are practicing our adding with the monkey game. 

Armani: We got to play with puzzles today. Was fun. 

Armani: I made a sentence by myself. "This is a jet"

Jesse: Look at all the sentences we made. 

Jorja: Mrs Viliamu liked our sentences. 

Koula: Here is Mrs Patel reading with us. 

Aashine: We like reading with Mrs Patel. 

We had a drill practice today. We learnt what to do if there was a fire drill and a lock out drill. Room 23 are great at remembering the things we did. We even practiced when we got back to class. 

More learning:

Aashine: We are learning to use our fingers to show how many there are in the ten frame. 

This week we have been looking at Soldiers in WW1. We looked at a picture of some soldiers and wrote about what we could see.

Xavier: We can see lots of things in this photo.

Ankush: I liked how the soldiers dressed. 

Joziah: I am drawing my picture brainstorm. We have to draw 3 pictures for 3 sentences. 

Aashanie: This is my picture brainstorm. I could see some hats, soldiers and where they were sleeping.

OUR DEFENSE FORCE VISIT:

On Wednesday we had some cadets from the defense force come in and visit us. They showed us a lot of things. Take a look:

Ankush: I won a hat!

Caleb: They were teaching us to march, 

We had lots of fun learning about the defense force.

Assembly Week!!!

Week 3:

This week we are on Assembly. We have been working very hard to make sure we have a good assembly. 

Here are some photos of our week:

Jorja: We are watching the big kids do a chant. 

Aeshvin: They were dressed up like soldiers.

Tui: I liked Te Manawas chant, 

Joziah: They were doing a play on stage. 

Lily: They wrote letters to their mum telling them about the war. 

Jorja: I am making sentences. Look at the paint. We saw a penguin.

Lester: I made these sentences. Look at the paint. Here is my swan. We saw a penguin. 

Aeshvin: Mrs Viliamu said this was a funny sentence. I am a watermelon. 

Armani: We are reading from our group box. 

Caleb: We are using the Ipads to play a game with our sight words. 

Aashine: We are reading together in the library.

Orlando: I like reading in the library. 

Next week is going to be an exciting week. We have some special guests coming in to visit us. We are very excited. Watch this space to see who they are.

Room 23

What have we been doing this week?

We have been busy this week. We have done a lot of learning and are on assembly on Friday.

Here are some photos of what we have been doing in class:

Sincear: We are talking to someone about what we did in the weekend. 

Tui: I was telling my buddy about me going to my friends house. 

Xavier: We are playing Math games on the Ipads. 

Lily: We have a new game we are learning to play on the Ipads. 

Jennifer: I like using the Ipad. 

Koula: We are learning with Mrs Patel

Jester: We rolled the dice and added up the numbers. We had to find the numbers on the turtle. 

Koula: I am reading Tiger Tiger to Aeshvin 

Aeshvin: I was listening to Koula. 

Jennifer: I was reading my book to Joziah. 

Joziah: We read to each other after reading. It was fun.

Caleb: I am listening to Jorja reading her book to me. 

Jorja: I made sure I was using my pointing finger when I read. 

Next week we will show you some highlights from our Assembly. Hope you can make it on Friday.

Room 23

Our second week at school.

We have had an awesome week this week. 

We read a poem called Puddle Play. Here is us reading our Poem and doing the actions. We made up the actions ourselves. 

 This week we have been practicing our reading by reading to each other. This is a good way for us to become confident readers. At the end of reading, we find someone that is not in our group and we sit down and take turns reading to each other. We have really enjoyed buddy reading.

This weeks Principals award goes to Jorja. She has been a great friend and helper this week. Jorja has been working hard and making sure she is doing the right thing. Well done Jorja. 

We are on Assembly next week. We are excited to show you a few new songs and also what we have been learning in our classroom. Hope you can make it to see our assembly. 

WELCOME BACK RM 23

 

 

WELCOME BACK!!!

 

 

 

Holidays are over and we are straight into our learning. We have all had a good holiday. We had some great stories to tell each other. Some of us went to the pools. Some of us went away and stayed at the beach and some of us just stayed at home and spent time with family.

 

 

We were really excited to see the new changes in Room 23. We like our new classroom.

Lily: We are reading big books with our pointers.

Joziah: I like using the pointer when reading.

Diego: We are playing the blend game. We have to find the matching pair.

Jester: This game is a cool game. I like winning.

Makalita: We are making words with magnetic letters.

Ankush: I can spell my name with magnetic letters.

Koula: I am making words from our word tree.

 

 

We have had a good first week this week. Looking forward to next week.
